I love Kung FUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Don't mind the mess, or "signs of life"

Sammy's love words

Me and Sammy

Sammy is always giving expressions of love. Here are some of my favorites:

Climbs on my lap, puts his hands on my face and whipers, "I love you so much I can't even handle it."

"I love Henry more-ther than everybody and everything."

"I love Henry than ever."

"Mom, I love you really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, much!"

"I love you 1 million x 100."

"I love Henry like super much."

Friday is National Pie Day

I got this gene from my Mom that makes you want to celebrate anything and everything you possibly can, so when we found out that there was such a thing as "National Pie Day" three years ago, it became an instant family tradition. On Pie Day you are supposed to bake your favorite pies and are encouraged to try out some new recipes. We are getting together with friends tomorrow to celebrate. Sam will be making a Southern Classic, Buttermilk Pie. I am making one of my favorites "Mystery Pecan Pie", which is pecan pie with a cream cheese layer at the bottom. For my "new" recipe, I'm thinking of trying a Pear-Apple Pie (above), or a Sour Cream Apple Pie. If anyone has any amazing pie recipes you think I should try, LET ME KNOW!!!

I put the Wall-E laptop (thanks Darci:) in front of Henry so he could pound on the buttons and when I turned around this is what I saw.

Some randoms of Sammy and Henry (or as Sammy calls him...Hen)

The boys zoned out to Super Why.
Lukey has 3 t-shirts he LOVES to wear, this is one of them. Thanks Marti.

Mama Mia

Over Christmas Break my Mom gave this to me. I am in love with it. She got it at a Garage Sale in Boston when I was a baby and it has hung in her house ever since. It is a reminder of what is really important to me as a mom, and of what an amazing mother I have. Sam said his Mom has this exact same cross stitch. I don't know if it is a really popular cross stitch of the 70's or if it is just another example of the Hirt/Nelson phenomenon. If you are not familiar with this phenom, here are some examples.

10 kids: 5 girls/5 boys
Oldest half: 4 girls and a boy
Youngest half: 4 boys and a girl
Both families have an Annie, Katherine, and Sam.
The Katherine and Sam are in the same birth order, 5th and 6th.
The 3rd boy/7th Child in both families have the middle name David. (my 3rd boy
now has the middle name David.)
The 5th Girl/9th Child both have the middle name Elizabeth.
My Dad and Brother's name is James/Sam and His Dad's Middle names are James.

I am pretty sure Sam and I were MTB!

boring post alert

I told a couple people I would blog my living room after I got furniture in there...it took a while, but here is it, there is still almost nothing on the walls. I have a really hard time commiting to things on my walls because I want them to be perfect, but I just need to get over that I guess.

Home Sweet Home

I was flipping through channels and caught this on the weather channel the other day. I have to say the video doesn't quite do justice to how cold and miserable it can be but can give you a taste of it. I found the link on the web page, enjoy!

a snipet of Christmas

There is too much to post everything, but I'll do more in the next couple days. This is our trip to temple square.

Lukey LOVED the train, he bawled when we got off.

Sammy and Denali. They actually posed for this picture and then Dylan and Lukey wanted in on the action. It was a nice change. Ususally I am wrestling the kids to stand still during photos. So cute.
