Eat your heart out MOM. We went blueberry picking on Saturday morning, we got there at 7:30 AM to avoid the heat, it actually felt very nice. This is was my first time picking non-Alaskan bluberries. I must say it was much easier having 4 ft high bushes instead of 6 inch bushes. We picked a gallon in an hour. We talked to the owners of the property and looked at their geese and pet their dogs. It was fun. Here are the pictures.
Sammy did more eating than picking but really liked itI barely got this picture before they were stuffed in Sammy's face
In the bag
Sammy was the perfect height
Definitely more per bush than AK, but not as tart, bluberry cobbler for dessert tonight

James says these are the kind that don't have any flavor! he has been heavily influenced by his mother! cracks me up.
I love it! I was sad that the berries weren't ready when I was in AK. Nothing beats fresh blueberries...nothing I tell you. That Sammy is getting big, I miss him....
Those look yummy.....
I'm hoping they are ripe when I get up there later this week. Eva, they are never ripe that early.... usually they are just barely ripe by Nephi's birthday....which is....TODAY!
Definitely influenced by his mom!! Non-Alaskan blueberries shouldn't be compared to Alaskan blueberries, or they are totally duds. Julia suggested I think of them as a blue piece of fruit so I wouldn't compare them! It kinda works, but they really lack flavor to me. I'm working on it though.
Anyways, I LOVE the pictures. I wish Alaskan blueberries grew like that. We'd eliminate the blue stained jeans and the sore backs!
I like those little hands.
alabama here i come. i don't eat them anyway!
