Trundle Bed

I have been meaning to make a trundle bed since Henry has graduated from his crib, he has been sleeping on the bean bag, which isn't ideal, so yesterday I went to Lowes and had them precut a bunch of wood and then I put a bunch of screws together and put some wheels under it. This being my first carpentry endeavor I was pretty proud of how it turned out. I was going to paint it yesterday too, but it started to rain, just as I got everything ready, I'll have to do that next week. Luke slept on it last night, and loved it so much he marked it as his territory in a very special way. I won't bore you with the details of how I put it together, but needless to say it was pretty simple. Here are some pictures.

That's looks awesome! We built a bed for Lauren and just like your mom said we have never gotten it painted because Lauren uses it! Oh well it still looks good! I'm not sure if you have ever read this blog, but has a ton of furniture plans that you can build yourself! That where we got the plans to build the toddler bed and my list is long of other things that I want to build. Now if only I could find some time!

I am hoping to build a daybed with this trundle underneath but I'm struggling with dimensions. One plan for a trundle makes it 70.5" in length but a standard mattress is 75" long! Can you please tell me how long your trundle is? We want something simple like yours but the plans for our daybed only give us 71" in length underneath. Thanks!!

Do you have the instructions or a materials list with measurements that you'd be willing to share? Thanks! :)
