a good day
So Sundays are rarely a day of rest especially when Sam has his early morning meetings and I have to get everyone ready alone. I'm so worn out even before Church starts. Today I directed the Choir and didn't get home until 2pm and church started at 9am. I was feeling a little worn out and emotional so Sam made me take a nap (I usually resist for some reason). I got up 3 hours later feeling amazing and what was even more amazing was I had a candlelight dessert of warm pumpkin pie with fresh cream and hot chocolate waiting for me. Let me just take a moment to thank Mama and Papa Hirt. I got a good one, and after spending the weekend with Holly and hearing about what a good husband Spencer is, I don't think it is just a fluke.

PICS
Here are some pictures of the past few weeks
This is Henry's Other Costume, A sumo wrestler
Eva came for Halloween Weekend, and appropriately wore her afro wig all day and night
We were too far from home after trick-or-treating so we had to make a pit-stop. This is another classic picture. I must apologize to Sammy, he will probably not appreciate seeing this in his teenage years
Trick-or-treating, they LOVED it

A Big Primary Guy
I always love Primary Programs in Sacrament Meeting, but having your own kid participate brings it to a whole other level. We never quite know how Sammy is going to react to new experiences, but he did not disappoint, it was hilarious. He was totally "that kid." He sang the songs way louder than everyone(there are only seven children in the primary so it wasn't too hard) sang loud gibberish if he didn't know the words (I think he got this from me)and kept humming after the song was over. He loudly whispered "I love you Mom", when he saw me in the back, and flashed multiple thumbs up and "I love yous" in sign language when we caught his eye. He had 2 speaking parts. The first was really sweet and the second was more of an experiment on how loud the microphone could get. After, everyone came up and commented on how he stole the show. It's always the naughty kids that get the credit:)

Gushing Alert!
So I've been trying not to gush about my husband as much because I think it might be getting a little annoying for people that hear it all the time, but today I JUST CANT HELP IT!!! It is Sam's 27th birthday and I want everyone to know..."I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it." He is my partner in every sense of the word, my best friend. He makes me laugh so hard and makes me feel so loved. Just being around him is my favorite thing. He loves life. He is passionate about biology and the outdoors. He genuinely loves all the crazy that comes along with being a parent. His boys are over the moon about him. I feel so honored to be his for eternity.

Sammy and Wookey
Here are some of Sam and Luke. They are always reminding me of my little brothers Sam and Fred when they were small. I have dejavu all the time. Wrestling like crazy. Luke even smiles while being naughty just like fred did. If he can get Sam to engage in a spazy punching match he starts giggling. We try to teach Sam not to fight back. The other day Luke had pinned him flat on his stomach and he put his hands up as if surrendering, yelling, "I'm trying to be nice, I'm trying to be nice." When he was younger and Luke would hit him, he knew he wasn't supposed to hit back so he would stand there literally shaking with anger, trying to keep from hitting.
